Tiahrt tried to defend the indefencible

Once again Rep. Todd Tiahrt has written a letter to the editors of The Wichita Eagle denouncing their criticism of his “Tiahrt Amendment” to prevent guns used in a crime to be traced to the dealers. (Editorials wrong on Tiahrt amendment, The Wichita Eagle, Sept. 30, the Opinion page.)
He sited A website by the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that used information obtained from what he called “aggregate data.”
He blasted not just The Eagle, but newspapers nation wide that have had editorials against his pro-gun-criminal bill. Once again, he can only come up with one source to back up claims that are simply indefensible.
The editorials of other newspapers have plenty of evidence that this policy is bad, but Tiahrt feels he only needs one argument to overcome the many that have been lodge against him.
