Congress as a whole—fails the American worker once again

 By Steve Otto

President Joe Biden’s new infrastructure program has plenty of good things for all of us. But this country has been held hostage by conservatives/ Republicans who represent US corporations and the millionaires and billionaires of this country. Often stupid old people and just stupid people in general, who simply don’t want to pay taxes, vote to keep these idiot conservatives in office.

One thing Biden originally tried to do was to raise the minimum wage which was last raised in   July 2009. Inflation has caused prices to go up. But people’s wages stay stagnant. Again, conservatives are to blame. Efforts to raise the minimum wage have failed and the Democrats have simply given up on it.

Biden’s plan includes 12 weeks of paternity leave. According to ABC News:

As Congress continues to debate the Biden administration's $3.5 trillion social-spending package, a coalition of advocates for paid leave rallied at the Capitol Thursday to urge lawmakers to keep a provision in the bill that would give all workers up to 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave.

But according to the morning news it is more likely to be four weeks.

Next there is the one Democrat who torpedoed plans to tax corporations at a higher rate, Kyrsten Sinema. It was former President Donald Trump who gave corporations these lavish tax breaks. Thanks to trump we are taxing the working class to death in this country for the benefit of the wealthy. And ass hole Sinema protects their privileges. So why is she even in the Democratic Party. The party needs to get rid of people like her. For all practical purposes she is a Trumpite and a traitor.

Biden tried to come up with free community colleges. That’s been killed also. When we look at our health care system and these other things, we can see how far behind Europe the US working class really is. There are people in this country working hard to keep working people behind and they work to keep the lavish tax breaks that the rich people and corporations get. The voters need to get fed up with this. Trump is gone and yet his stench lingers on and we see a Democrat who joins Republicans to protect those lavish rewards for being rich and greedy.

We need to work for a day when working people get tired of being the pawns of corporations.
