Tanker Todd Bombs again

Once again Rep. Todd Tiahrt has banked and lost on his tanker proposal. Tanker Todd has tried hopelessly to get Wichita Boeing a job building military tankers. But according to The Wichita Eagle:

“The U.S. Air Force chose a Northrop Grumman/European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. team for a $35 billion contract to replace its aging fleet of refueling tankers, dealing a blow to Boeing and the Kansas economy.”

Tiahrt gave his usual clap trap about the military giving jobs to a foreign firm:

"I am deeply troubled by the Air Force's decision to award the... tanker to a French company that has never built a tanker in its history," U.S. Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Goddard, said in a statement. "I cannot believe that we would create French jobs in place of Kansas jobs."

Of course this company has a track record of building military equipment. Once again it is outsourcing that puts American workers out of business. But it was a business decision and no one has promoted faith in the rights of big business, no one has championed letting businesses decide what is best for our economy more than Tiahrt. So if anyone complains that big business has not been fair to the American worker it should not be Tiahrt. He is as responsible as the military in this decision.

He also promised to make the American worker more competitive. He can’t even save our jobs from the French. Once again we are paying for the incompetence of Rep. Tiahrt.

I don't know where Tiahrt gets this, "Giving our jobs to the French," business. Northrop's contract will give almost 1,800 jobs to American workers in Mobile, AL -- yes, Alabama the nineteenth state of this Union. However, it's good to know there are some rational people in the state of Kansas who recognize this Boeing pawn for what he really is.

And why does he not mention that Boeing is the biggest purchaser of Chineses aircraft parts of any company in the world? Just imagine opening a box with a desk one has to assemble. It was made in China. Lo and Behold!! How can one use two left-sides of a desk and no right-hand side? But this is typical of Chinese-made products. And think of it every time you get in a Boeing-built plane. Think of all the parts around you that were made in China!! But the point is, Boeing has not mentioned how many foreign countries they have contracted to building their aircraft. This is not outsourcing? I'd like to know one thing? Does Tiahrt draw a pension from Boeing?

Tiahrt proved you WRONG!
The GAO says that Tiahrt was right, that the Air Force did make many mistakes.
The Defense Department reopened the bidding process.
You libs hate Tiahrt so much, I don't think that any of you are big enough to admit that you were wrong and that Todd Tiahrt was RIGHT!
By the way, the EADS plane was not compiant, with the request. Airbus was not able to show that they could refuel every airplane in the fleet. Airbus had far higher costs than what the Airforce first guessed. Airbus would require new hangers. Airbus has less fuel efficiency for their planes.
Also, the Boeing deal WILL employ far more Americans than the EADS deal.
This is important. Those Boeing workers will pay taxes. That REDUCES the net cost of the project.
Again, I know that you liberals are not big enough to admit it when you are wrong.
But, YOU WERE WRONG and TIAHRT WAS RIGHT!
