Tiahrt says we can work as merchants of death

Worried about the job situation in Wichita? Rep. Todd Tiahrt has it all figured out. We can hire people to build weapons for our continuing involvement in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world. With our interventionist, modern day Julius Caesar president, were going to need lots of military equipment and ammunition. And let’s not forget the coffins and body bags, for those “brave men and women” Tiahrt mentions, who will not make it home alive.

According to a Tiahrt web page
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. House of Representatives Tuesday passed a $377.6 billion defense appropriations bill that contains approximately $8.9 billion in defense projects that provide work for south central Kansas workers. U.S. Representative Todd Tiahrt (R-Goddard), a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, secured $52.6 million in additional funding for area companies.
“After fighting hard to keep the federal government’s spending down with the passage of a sensible budget, I am honored to bring federal dollars back to Kansas,” said Tiahrt. “We have the best workers in the nation and I am pleased the House passed a bipartisan defense spending bill that addresses the needs of our country while our brave men and women are protecting our homeland.”

If Congressman Tiahrt and his publicity staff made this contradictory statement, then he has forgotten that the country is at "war." And war requires sacrifice from it's citizens. Where is there any sacrifice in this statement? South central Kansas workers should be volunteering their labor and cheap enough to not require federal funding. It is only when true Americans learn to volunteer their labor in this war that true victory against the evil doers will be realized.

I suggest "Lefty Kansas Blogs" which also volunteers many of its writers labor contact Congressman Tiahrt and solicit a share of these federal funds.

I also suggest that gathering such support from the congressman will secure their position in the labor camps and reserve all the amenities offered to other illegal immigrants writing, working and prospering from their labor in south central Kansas.

The congressman is "fighting hard" and we should too, by demanding to volunteer for donating our labor in the fight against Terrorism and bringing democracy to the Middle East, or whereever our brave soldiers are sent, including south central Kansas - a great place to live to be sure!

Now that the congressman has brought all this money to our district, we should honor him and obey his dictates - by being what he has called us, "the best workers in the nation."
