Tiahrt on the Campaign trail - of well financed lies

Here’s what cost part of a $million when Rep. Todd Tiahrt campaigns against a weak candidate. When you use the office to make money and ignore your constituents, you’ve got to spend some of that campaign loot.

Effective leader?
The truth is he put all his faith in a Boeing tanker deal the sunk. He’s done nothing to alleviate joblessness in his district.

Shares our priorities?
Only if you want to see our liberties going down the drain. The patriotic act, whittles away at our rights and he supported torturing captives.

Doing the right thing?
This is aimed at the churches that ignore the huge financial contributions he takes in and uses tax-payers money on family trips to Hawaii and Europe.

Bush’s puppy is now ready to cut and run

After years of Browns nosing to President George Bush, Rep. Todd Tiahrt is now trying to distance himself from an obvious looser and buffoon. It’s a little late for that and even our own The Wichita Eagle, October 10, 2006, has pointed that out:

One television commercial for Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Goddard, recounts how he disagreed with President Bush earlier this year on the Dubai port deal. It would seem that the purpose of the commercial is either to distance Tiahrt a bit from a struggling president or to counter criticism that he is a GOP soldier who does whatever the president orders.
If it’s the former, Bush must really be radioactive if a long-term congressman from a red state who is facing a little-known opponent feels the need to separate himself from Bush. If it’s the latter, is the Dubai deal -- which was nearly universally condemned in this country -- the biggest disagreement Tiahrt can come up with?

Tiahrt’s job will cost him

Alan Bjerga is running against Rep. Todd Tiahrt in this election. With all the dirt uncovered on Tiahrt and all the flops as screw ups he’s had the last few years, the race would seem a slam-dunk for Bjerga. But Bjerga only has $2,700 so far. He also isn’t taken very serious by the Democratic Party establishment.
But there is one good side to all of this. There have been lots of commercials featuring Tiahrt, trying to claim he has done a lot for Kansas. Why is this a good thing? Because he has more than a $million in campaign contributions and now he has to spend them to keep his office. That’s less money for Tiahrt’s pocket change.
