Rep. Todd Tiahrt , R-Goddard, said the new 10-year budget deficit projections of $9 trillion confirmed the need to repeal the federal stimulus plan and showed that President Obama’s “out-of-control spending is leading our country toward fiscal calamity.”
He obviously ignores the fact that the economy, while far from recovered, is better today than it was under then President George Bush. He stick to the idea that politicians should sit on their ass and do nothing.
According to The Wichita Eagle:
”Tiahrt said that the “skyrocketing deficit numbers should serve as a wake-up call to the administration that you cannot borrow and spend your way out of a recession.”
But he can spends tons of money to get elected and raise millions from lobbyist to get a seat in the senate. I guess spending is only a bad thing when Democrats do it.
No room for allowing the economy to self-correct? You would rather submit to the over-reaction of inexperienced politicians, a similar thing which happened in the 1930's, causing the Depression to continue in until 1946? Resist the pull of conventional wisdom, that the government must "Do Something". In imagining, e.g., that there's a right to healthcare hidden in "promoting the general welfare", you are on your merry way toward breaking the bank, and will have to increase taxes to achieve this, so that we can all "achieve prosperity", right? no society has ever taxed itself into prosperity. Ever. And you and your president with the 5-minute career think it can be done? Something else you might not know: "Misuse" is misspelled on your title page.
ReplyDelete"no society has ever taxed itself into prosperity. "
ReplyDeleteDo you read any history books? We were far better off under Franklin D Roosevelt than Herbert Hoover. Adolf Hitler rebuilt the German economy using tax funded programs, much as FDR did.Joseph Stalin used tax money to rebuild war torn Russia after he came to power. No matter what you think of FDR, Hitler or Stalin, all three used tax funded programs to improve their prospective economies.
You need to read some history books before making such statements.
