Tiahrt defends coal polution

As Rep. Todd Tiahrt starts up his Senate campaign, he has already proven a ridiculous idiot of a candidate. His latest gaff is to blast Gov. Kathleen Sebelius for opposing the new coal burning plant that Kansas doesn’t need.
Tiahrt has stuck to the ridiculous conservative ranting that there is no global warming. Scientific evidence is overwhelming. But Tiahrt is determined to play the conservative doubt card and push for making Kansas one of the dirtiest states in the nation.

From The Wichita Eagle:
“Tiahrt blasts Sebelius over coal-plant veto, offers to debate
BY DION LEFLER
The Wichita Eagle
The day after Gov. Kathleen Sebelius vetoed a bill to authorize two western Kansas coal plants, Rep. Todd Tiahrt criticized her and said he doesn't think that it's settled science that carbon emissions cause global warming.
"I'd be glad to have that debate with her or anybody else," Tiahrt, R-Goddard, said in a speech Tuesday to the Wichita Independent Business Association.”

Did Tiahrt say he would debate the issue? Surely he isn’t serious. Not only has he refused to debate his opponents in his re-election campaigns for the US House, he can’t possibly win a debate over the coal issue. It’s a no brainer – and Tiahrt has no brains when it comes to debating. There is no logical reason that Kansas should pollute its own air for the sake of selling electric power to other states.
More than likely, Tiahrt is betting no one will try such a ridiculous debate.
